Had a close encounter of a different kind on Wednesday

Here are two videos. One is mine. It is short, and seems to contain nothing of interest. But as you watch it, notice the timestamp. It’s in military time, but it translates to 3:13pm.

Now watch this news video:

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

You will note that what you see is the same office building, with a tornado funnel forming above it. That news video was shot around 3:30pm. In fact, as my video starts, my car is pointed right towards where the news camera was later set up. You can see the area across the highway, between the white Eclipse and the black Ridgeline.

That, my friends, is a little too close for comfort. Although knowing that it didn’t do much damage, it also would’ve been a cool video to get. Still, hail & an aluminum car don’t mix.
